On the 17th, after breakfast at the hotel, we took a three wheeler to Poraiyur, a small town inland of Tranquebar, to visit the Helping Hearts Creche and Medical Center.
Gail was warmly greeted by the staff and told the Noah story to the children. The Medical Center was funded by a group of visiting students after their return home, raising $5,000. The staff nurse of the Creche, Regina, checks the children, but the clinic is also open to residents for diagnosis and minor injuries. Benjamin took this picture of the staff and visitors.
He will return to Kodai the 21st. We took a late afternoon train to Thanjavur planning a day of just plain old tourism.
