Mae 14 - 15 Peach Tree, Grace: stories

Monday the 14th Gail revisits Peach Tree Creche. It is rented, the back rooms of a big house. She's been telling the Noah tale, but has not seen the teachers involve the children as much in the process. Hilda and Ann have been working with the head teacher to help her do less rote learning and more interactive.
The children loved the Noah stories and the Matsya-Vishnu story. The parents had expressed concern over the proposed pageant in which the children would dress-up as Hindu gods – this pushed too many buttons, we're not sure what religion or what proscriptions, but the result is that the Grace Creche will do the enactment. One of the cooks at Peach Tree was fascinated with the Hindu story, hearing snippets from the children, so Mercy, the head teacher related the whole tale.
At Grace Creche the next day, Gail went through the story, and the teachers and kids had a blast getting up costumes and acting out the story. Here's the demon in an after the fact photo shoot. Manu, (first man) of the story exhibits supreme unconcern at his classmates antics. Matsya, avatar of Vishnu, the minnow who has grown as large as a whale prepares to battle the Demon. The, Demon, rather more of a threat than Godzilla, is vanquished. Manu saves the animals from the flood in his boat, helped by Matsya.





As we prepare for our journey to the plains to visit one of the Chreche's there, we take a short walk to Fairy Falls near or bungalow. A government scheme to promote tourism thoughtfully provided a circular platform to get a close look.
