We are visiting our son Ben, here with Gail at the
farmer's market. The mountains collect clouds in winter.
We went to the Getty Museum, and attempt to see how much money it takes to convince the world that California does too have culture. The landscaping and architecture really are art on a grand scale.

Gail is always thrilled to find our favorite sculptor, Barbara Hepworth represented.
Ben started to relate to the California landscape at age 3 during Gail's internship inVentura. Here he is now, mirroring photos of him on our trip to San Francisco for Jim's 50th birthday when he was 12.

We attended the Sunday service at the Temple of the Lake Shrine of the Self Realization fellowship in Santa Monica with Ben. Afterward we took a walk by the ocean and toured the gardens of the Shrine. The minaret across the lake marks the location of the Gandhi Shrine, where a portion of the Mahatma's ashes are. Gandhi was a close friend of Yogananda, the SRF founder, who was brought from India in the early part of the 20th century by the Unitarian Association.
